Wonderland

Hey my dear friends! πŸ™‚ Β This weekend me and my friends went on a quick trip to the Wonderland or in other words Finland. I have expressed a lot of times how I feel every time I am there, so I thought I should link a special post of mine that I wrote a while back, so that you can have a taste of what I am talking about.

This time was extra special because it is this time of the year again, the Christmas time. The town was more beautiful than ever. The Christmas lights, the beautiful window displays and the cozy atmosphere made me feel like I was thirteen years old and I was finally living in my own dream. I have been dreaming about being in Finland on winter and Christmas time since I was a little kid.

These are the moments that I captured on my camera from downtown. πŸ™‚ I hope you like them as much as I do and enjoy them like I did when I took them.

Have a great night / day my friends, take care and be kind to one another. πŸ™‚

Memories

Hey friends! Today I was going through some old pictures and I found this one of me and Gus G., when he was in Stockholm last February for a couple of interviews about his then upcoming tour “We are the Fire” .

This picture was taken a while after the interview was over a long and very interesting one actually! Gus G. was the first artist that I ever interviewed and despite the fact that I was really nervous but yet excited, it felt so good once it was done, because I learned so much through this experience by a talented artist who respects his work. What it is like for instance to be your own boss, or where you get your inspiration from once you write a song. What it feels like when you perform in front of a 30.000 people audience or a 35 people audience. Such interesting stuff that I could be talking or writing for endless hours.

If you have not checked out the interview yet, or if you want to take a look at the pictures from his show in Stockholm last winter, feel free to click at the links below. πŸ™‚

Have a great day / night my friends with lots of music!

Flashback

Hey dear friends πŸ™‚ Today is one of these days when you wake up and a certain song is stuck on your brain and you keep singing it all day long even though you have no idea where it came from. Here is the song that hit me today, I have no idea where it came from, but I used to love it when I was a kid. I love both its melody and lyrics, and I highly believe it is a very sentimental and true song. Have you heard of it? Or the band?

Have a great day folks and an even greater weekend, spread love and be kind to one another. ❀

Simple Man

I have never been the type of person who knows how to use the exact words under specific situations, and as a consequence to that, I have let the music always speak on my behalf, when I could not speak the right words. Today is one of those days. And I chose a song that I have been listening to since I was a little girl, from a band that I have always looked up to.

Sometimes I actually wonder if this is the real world that we live in. If this is the real life you know. Because if it is, I will never be able to understand why there is so much hatred and cruelty on this planet. Or why people choose to act like this and cannot solve their differences in peace. For all of this, I chose the song below to speak for me today, a song that gave me hope, strength and made me always keep my feet and head on the ground. Helped me be humble, grateful and always thankful for my family and my life.

I hope you guys have a beautiful weekend, and never forget that music is fearless and heals wounds. ❀

November Lights Experience

Last night one of the biggest and most fancy Swedish festivals took place in Globen, Stockholm ; November Lights.

To be really honest with my words, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. November lights is a sister festival to Summerburst, the electro house festival that takes place every summer in Gothenburg and Stockholm. A festival that I actually never had the chance to go to.

With that been said and with the passion that I have in my heart for dance and electronic music along with my DJing background and with my experience and knowledge of being a part of the Select DJ family, what more can I say except that last night was a night to remember.

I had noticed a while back but never admitted it out loud, that Sweden is a House music country. I had my doubts though, since so many other kinds of music are made and produced successfully here but, when we talk about house and electro music, we are talking about an experience on a whole new level. We are talking not only about the music itself, but about the whole impression of any house event would leave you with.

To mention a few words about my personal experience of last night’s festival, it was like I left this life of mine for a night, this spirit of mine and this body, and I went to a magic land. A land full of music, laser lights, colors, bubbles, glitter, flashing lights, smiles, dance, party, high technology equipment, neon make-up , and the beating of your heart that became stronger and stronger every time the mixing reached its highlight moments. Smoke, excitement, happy people, boys and girls being totally spontaneous, sharing a passion for the same thing, staring all towards the same direction, towards a huge scene full of a high definition sparkly graphics.

This feeling and actually “burden” if I am allowed to use this word, that Djs have or at least are supposed to have, to me it seems like it should be about serving a higher purpose. Serving a purpose of being not only a DJ at this point, not only a performing artist or a vocalist. At this point you are way beyond that. You are an entertainer. You are the one who is going to drop the sickest beat within the next second and you are going to make the 10.000 people in front of you dance so hard, that they are going to make the whole building move. To me this is what dance music is all about. And last night I remembered why I took this DJ class and why I love playing music and make people glad when I have the chance.

I truly hope and wish that I have the chance to be there in Summerburst 2016 and relive all of this on an even higher level. What are your thoughts about house and electro music? Is it something that makes your heart pump like a 5 year old? Have you ever been to a festival like this? I would love to hear about your experiences!

Feel free to take a look on the moments that we captured on our camera πŸ™‚ The pictures are from the sets of Nervo, Knife Party, Orjan Nilssen and Armin Van Buuren.

Have a great night/ day my friends and a greater week with lots of music! πŸ™‚
