The Temperance Movement @ Katalin Uppsala / 2015.12.01

Last night me and my partner in crime had the pleasure to travel to Uppsala and have one more live experience in our little music treasure box. This time the music that we had the chance to experience is the one that I love most in life. A mix of blues, hard rock and garage rock sound, that The Temperance Movement succeed to create to a very remarkable level.

I found out about them a while back through their record label Earache records and as soon as I checked out their tour dates, I knew that we had to be there.

I had been once before to Katalin in Uppsala, but on a totally different gig. This time I think the music and the place matched perfectly. It was a perfect combination in a cold Swedish night.

We arrived early because I wanted to meet the band a while before they hit the stage. They have been in Sweden for quite a few days now and I was curious to find out what they think of it and how it has been treating them so far. Their response and attitude was extremely positive, not only towards me but towards all the people that approached them to have a quick chat before the show. We took a couple of pictures to make sure we have the shots we need except from the live ones, just a while before the lights go down and they come up on stage.

Around 9 and when the place got packed, it was this time again, the time that I love most in life; When your heartbeat starts rising and you know that the music will start filling up the place any moment now. When the band members are going to get out there, they are going to take their place on the stage and they are going to do what they know best. For a lot of people it might be a show. For me, it is creating magic. Creating something special, that you can only live in a certain moment, in a certain place, in a certain day. No matter if you see a band more than once in the same tour, every show is different. Specially when the artists themselves give their all up in there.

Watching some of my favorites like “Be lucky” , “Ain’t no telling” and “Only friend” was something that I had been looking forward to. They actually played a couple of new songs from their upcoming record too, which is going to be released in early 2016.  I absolutely believe that this band is really skilled, the melodic sound along with the intense drum rhythm and the wide range of  Phil’s voice makes you think that they are like  little rough diamonds, real and authentic. I would love to see them play again and why not in a bigger venue surrounded by blues mood and rock attitude. Like trouble is our “only friend”.

I don’t really know if you guys can relate to my words every time I am describing a live experience, specially from bands that I love and admire, but to me a live show is one of the most unique feelings out there. And I believe it works both ways. Both for us as the observers of it, but also for the artists. It is like this couple of hours you can be yourself and you can be free. You can have the music leading you to get loose. You can have the music making you smile while the musicians smile back. There ain’t no doubt that a live experience is going to make you feel like you are one step closer to your own self. Think about it the next time you are in a live show. πŸ™‚

I am really glad that I had the chance to see live such a talented band like them. The 13 year old me would be extremely proud that I am lucky to be having the chances I have through my work and my blog since it is something that I have been dreaming to do my whole life. I would not be where I am today and do what I do today, meet so talented and humble people and experience the things that I do, if it wasn’t for the music. Next time we are somewhere out, let’s all drink to that; To the power that music can have.

Here are a couple of moments that I captured on my camera both before and after the show. πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! Have a great day / night my friends! πŸ™‚

Tearing Down The Walls

One of my favorite bands ever, H.e.a.t , are going to release a live album that has been recorded in London. Today the first single was released and it was the song “Tearing down the walls”. In about a week or so H.e.a.t are heading off for their second European tour of this album. Are you joining any of these shows? If not, I’m telling you, YOU SHOULD! Check out the video ( which left me with such strong feelings by the way) and also if you are interested in buying tickets, check out the link below and find out how.

Have a great weekend friends with lots of music! πŸ™‚ ❀

Stockholm Rocks

As I had already Β written about it, last night was Stockholm Rocks festival. I had such an amazing time, even though I was tired to death. I hadn’t slept for two days with school and classes and team work, but once I got there and the live music started, as usual, I forgot about everything else and just lived for the moment. Last night was special for one more reason and this is the fact that I got to know in person my greek friends OUTLOUD. I knew that they were greek, that’s why I sneaked backstage and hanged out with them. It was my first time actually backstage and it was an amazing feeling. It feels so good getting to know kind people through music. This is why I do it and why I will be forever devoted to its kingdom. πŸ™‚ ❀

Guest Posts

Back to Stockholm and working on some old pictures like this one below of Eric Rivers from the swedish hard rock band H.E.A.T Β . I thought about having guest posts , an idea that I read about a while ago. Basically I describe on this blog concerts, artists and how this can relate with a free and wild lifestyle. So I thought if there is anyone out there who wants to share their experiences of music shows or why they like a specific artist so much, or anything that has to do with rock n’ roll lifestyle, feel free to mail me and I will create a whole post only with your experiences! I thought it would be really fun if we all could share our feelings and emotions here. πŸ™‚

Feel free to mail me and if you want, send also a picture of your show with your name as credit or with the name of anyone the picture belongs to and I will post it as soon as possible.

If you are also an artist and want to share your experiences from your own personal perspective, you can be my guest! πŸ˜€

ROCK ON! ❀
