The First Day For The Rest Of Your Life

Today was the last day for the first year in my college class at Projektverkstan / Södra Stockholms Folkhögskola. God, what a year!!! My project (my blog) had a lot of ups and downs, a lot of happiness and excitement , but also a lot of disappointment and tears. I want to believe that the general part of my goal has been succeeded, meaning starting a platform that me and people with the same interests (artists, bloggers, managers, producers, djs) can use to spread, show and embrace the love for music.

I love the fact that I had this class and these classmates to push me when I needed a push, to motivate and help me when I needed help and also to comfort me through my “dark times” when I really needed it. I believe that I  have been on the right track and  have learnt so much under this time, from technical things like how you use Mac, till how important it is to believe in yourself because there is no one else like you in the whole world.

I also got a little surprise, my lovely class and teachers got me presents from their class trip!! I was not able to go because I had my swedish test those days (which I successfully passed!! ) , but they all made me feel special by saying that they have been thinking of me. And this is what matters most.

We were also given back the letters that we had written to ourselves when we first started. The only thing that I will say about mine is that among other things I also wrote “have a couple of tattoos, show some attitude! ” hahaha!!

I hope you all like my effort and “hustle” and  keep liking it as I will try to make it go as far as it can. All artists / producers /managers that might read this, I would love to listen / contact any of you who works with music and has anything to say about my project.

A special thank you to my 2 favorite artists ever Alpis and Christopher from Södrasidan, who have always said good words about my blog and have always shown respect for it.

And also the man who has helped me so much by believing in me and giving me my first work opportunity  but also real and strong advice through the tough times, my special Micheal.

Last but not least all my classmates, boys and girls who have been keeping up with me when I couldn’t talk swedish but still showed respect and support and my lovely teachers Tova, Åke,  Suz and Max that taught me so unbelievably much within these months.

I will see you (most of you) next year! Have a great summer! (Jessica we are going to check out  some shows during summer right?!! )

Må bäst!

Second Day Working!

Today was the second day working! Almost everything is done, apart from a few details. I also printed out pretty, little Urbanside logos and cards!! 😀 Plus, the day’s best thing was that I ran into ISON and STOR at the train to school! One normal day on your way to school and you happen to see some of the most famous rappers in this country.  Last week I ran into Aki from Labyrint and Amsie Brown 😀

Work , Work , Work!!

In a couple of days we have our öppet hus exhibition in college and I started working today on what I want to present. It will be a very big poster with the most known pictures on my blog, from all my favourite artists and from many different events like hip hop battles, gigs, festivals, release parties. Who will be included – exposed in it are : Mando Diao , Hoffmaestro, Sugarplum Fairy, Alpis, Södra sidan, Näääk , Nimo, Kartellen, EASAS (En annan sida av Sverige) , Max Peezay and Matte Caliste. There is also going to be a short text presentation of it which more or less goes like this : “The main idea for my project was to inspire people who live in other countries, through the swedish hip hop and the life in the suburbs of Stockholm, just like I was when I lived in Greece”. Also to introduce this type of music and lifestyle to other people from an “outsider’s ” perspective, since I was not born and raised here in Sweden. There is a lot of material from live shows, hip hop battles and pictures from the most known suburb areas in Stockholm city” . Yup, that’s it! I took the below sneak pics to show how the process goes and I will be working on it tomorrow and on Thursday also. Feel free to come check out my project and everyone else’s in our class on the 3rd and 4th of may, 11.00 – 15.00 , Skärholmsgången 2 , T – Bana Skärholmen.

See you there!!

Jessica’s Exhibition

Last night one of my friends and classmates Jessica had her project ending at Lava, Kulturhuset. Jessica’s project had a lot of different parts, paintings, podcast episodes, art, creativity and hard work. The last episode of her podcasts was a live show that took place last night. I think that she is of the ones in our class that really managed to end their project within these 8 months of our course!

You can listen to her on iTunes here :

And find out more about her and her work here :

Good job girl! 🙂

My Very First Project

I haven’t blogged for a couple of days now because me and the team that I work with  have been super busy with our first project. I finally had the chance to test my skills as a project manager / Music manager, call it whatever you want.

The project was a photoshoot and the responsibilities were almost all on me. Me and my partner in this project, Angelo. We had to organize the perfect photoshoot for our artist  Micheal. The photos are going to be used from now on in everything that he needs to do as an artist. My part in the project was to basically make sure that it is completely organized and well prepared, meaning that we had to book the photographer, the models, the make up artist, fix the clothes, the time, the food, the schedule and almost everything really. Also to come up with the whole concept, something that me and Angelo have been planning for the last month. It was maybe one of the best experiences/ chances. It was super fun and the best part is that every time something like this happens, I am surrounded by professionals and I learn so many things about art, music, photography and business. It was such a good time.

I think  I did pretty alright if someone considers that it was my first time taking complete responsibility for a whole project. This is what I studied in Greece and what I am still studying here and now I have the chance to start working with it.

I wanna say such a big thank you to Micheal for trusting me on this one and in many more to come and to all the guys in our team, Angelo, Stephen, and also my new friends Richard, Cheicki  and everyone else who was on the set . I hope we get to work again like this real soon!

This is a tiny taste of moments captured on my camera! 🙂
